Nanopore - Direct RNA Sequencing

In this workflow, the native RNA is sequenced directly. Even though the native RNA is first transcribed into cDNA, only a first-strand synthesis is performed, leaving the native RNA strand intact in the RNA/DNA hybrid. On the Flow Cell only the RNA strand from the RNA/DNA hybrid is sequenced. The direct sequencing of native RNA allows not only the detection of splice variants but also the detection of epigenetic modifications on the RNA.
